GA's first fund raiser of the new GA year

Hello everyone, I totally forgot to take pictures of this recent event.  Friday night was our first Bake Sale with our new group of GA's.  We made about $32.00 towards getting a service dog for a family.  The girls are well on their way to make their goal and get a pizza party.  They are also going to be selling the lollipops with purple ribbons on them sometime soon, hopefully we can get it out there to sell by wednesday nights supper.  I will try to remember to take pictures at their next bake sale which will be this friday.  Thanks for reading, have a great day, God Bless.

The GA's LOCK-IN

     WOW!  The Ga's lock in at the church was a BLAST!  Some of the girls slept but as for me a few other girls we were awake ALL night.  There was make-up, colored and glitter hair spray, nail polish, curling and straighting of the hair, a movie, a talent show  pageant thingy.  It was fun.  I think that the next time we do this we will have to be better organized and have the big tent.  And probably a set bedtime too.  Like lights out at 2 maybe 3am.  That way everyone can get some sleep.  I have pictures but I haven't downloaded them yet...so stay tuned.

I'm Back

     Hello everyone, I hope everyone had a great summer.  I did, I was very blessed all summer.  The only thing I wish that there was more of was our beach days!  But my hubby took us to the beach for a whole weekend and we basically lived right there on the beach.  It was great.  We watched the entire 3 seasons of H2O: Just Add Water and if you like mermaids and haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it.  So this summer has been about Transformers and Mermaids..lol.
     We started our sewing class again, and can't wait to get started on those projects.  My daughter hasn't decided yet, I've made a pattern of a mermaid doll and hope that it turns out like I am picturing it in my head.  My daughter's friend is almost finished with her project already and my niece has joined us and is making a Clemson pillow.  Just so everyone knows I am a GAMECOCK fan, but as long as Clemson plays someone else I will be okay if Clemson wins. 
     The GA's got bigger this year, I am excited.  We have so many neat things planed already, from adopting a solider and adopting a senior and fund raising for great causes.  We are hoping to have a Lock In at the church one night to watching Soul Surfer and we might be planing a trip to the movies too to see Dolphin Tale.   We are so blessed.  Thanks for reading.  God Bless.

Catching Up

The bake sale was good.  I think we have enough money to send to get the baby chics.  The VBS (Vacation Bible School) went really well and even though I didn't make enough Statue of Liberty's for every one the plaster paint day was still a big hit.  My favorite craft that the kids did that week had to be the water bottle coozies.  They were so neat.  Now things are back to normal and the day camps at church for our little ones is Thursdays 9-1 not today this starts the following Thursday.  My kids, two dogs and I are going to spend a week with my dad.  This will be the big dog's first time being over there, and I pray that she won't get out of the gate because she can run really fast and I don't want anything to happen to her.  I also pray that she won't chew anything that belongs to my dad while we are there, I will be very upset.  I think as long as the kids and I and her little companion is there with her I don't think there will be much of a problem.  I wish I could bring my bike, but I already know that it won't fit in my car from past experience...lol.  I got the bike stuck in the car when I first bought it from WAL-MART...lol that was a sight to see. Bake Sale

Hello everyone, the GA's had a bake sale a few weeks ago my daughter made brownies and I made cupcake.  The dyed sugar that I did came in handy.  I used it all!  I need to dye more, but I don't think it will be anytime soon...lol.  The bake sale is for the GA's to send baby chics over seas through the Samaritan's Purse.  They have almost reached their goal!  I am so proud of them this time because they are actually doing the work and selling their items.  I think they might deserve a pizza party after this mission project!

I Finished My Apron

Hello everyone.  I am so very excited and proud of myself.  I finished my apron.  he last sewing project of the year. We won't have another sewing class until September :0(, but we got to take our sewing machines home with us.  I can't wait to see what my daughter and I will sew over the summer.  I think there might be doll clothes and bags and who knows what else we will sew.  My daughter finished her butterfly pillow, that is her second project.  Her friend made a doll quilt and she put the finishing touches on that today too.  We had a blast learning to sew and we have an amazing teacher.  Thank you Mrs.B.J. for all of your time and patience.  We love you.

The Caribbean Jerk Chicken

The Caribbean Jerk chicken wasn't as good as it smelt.  The marinade smelt delicious, and when it was cooking it smelt great too.  I don't know what happened between then and when we ate it, but to me it was not flavorful like I was hoping it would be and my chicken lg kind of tasted like turkey...weird...lol.  Anyway, here is a pic of what it looked like.  Thanks for looking and reading.  God Bless.

Oven Fried Chili Chicken

Toffee Bars...Yummy!

This is a dessert recipe I tied today...it was sooooo good!  It was made in three parts.  Part one was the egg yolk, brown sugar and butter.  Part two was the condensed milk, butter and vanilla.  Part three was the chocolate chips and the pecans.  I was so surprised at how this came out. This gets a smiley face too! Lemon and Herb Chicken

Hello everyone.  Tonight we had green beans, rice and McCormick's Lemon and Herb Chicken.  It got thumbs up around our dinner table.  It was pretty good.  And I am happy that I get to mark that one off with a smiley sticker in the composition book.  I also fixed a cookie recipe it's a sugar cookie recipe and I don't think they are very good, I haven't let them try one yet...but we will see what the dessert taste testers say...lol.  Let me know if there are any recipes for this one or any that I have on my blog and I will be more than happy to leave it in the comments for everyone.  Thanks for looking and thanks for reading.  God Bless.

Surfboard Cake

Hello everyone, well I did it.  It didn't turn out the way I had imagined it would, but not at all bad for my first surfboard cake.  It can only get better the more I do this one...which I don't know if I will again but anyway.  Here it is, I forgot to take a picture of it before I put it in the bakery box.  Mr.K sells just the boxes for about $3.00.

Colored Sugar and Enchilada Pizza

Hello everyone.  Today I dyed a lot of sugar.  It is so easy and fun...lol.  I now have blue, green, yellow, coral and a brownish color. 

The book is the cupcake one, "What's New Cupcake".  Awesome book.

Busy, Busy, Busy

     Hello everyone, wow this weekend has flown by.  Friday was my daughters field trip where we got to walk in the Puff mud while her and her classmates got to go and pick up fiddler crabs and snails, and a whole bunch of things.  Then they planted grass (marsh grass, it has another name, but I don't remember it...lol) after that they played a game and then went to a floating dock where they had a chance to catch a bigger crab and see other wildlife.  They saw a bunch of catfish but the chicken neck wasn't done in the water long enough for the crabs to actually take hold.
     After the fieldtrip we went to Publix and I picked up a few groceries:

I got all this for $25.00 using coupons.  I didn't have coupons for everything.  I always try to use coupons for everything, but sometimes it happens.  I can't stand going shopping without coupons though.  It might take a little bit of time, but I think it is well worth it and I think it's fun!
     Friday night skating.  It was awesome even though I had a headache.  Luckily, I took something before it got too bad.  I met some friends there and a new mom I had just met on the field trip (well kinda just met, this was the first time we got to really talk), and my neighbor and her sister bought their kids (They loved it).  Two of my friends signed their kids up for VBS :) yay.  I am so happy that they will be joining us this summer and maybe get their parents to join the church, that would be great too!
     Today, the school carnival.  It was fun the kids had fun.  And now we are all exhausted. This was really neat, they had a booth for nail polish and hair color (spray).  I got my hair sprayed with pink and green...my daughter and son didn't...lol.  Thanks for reading and God Bless.

Pizzeria Chicken

Our Wonderful Dog...How I Love this dog

If it's not the cat it's the dog...lol. Well the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies were okay. I put them in a gallon sized zip loc and put them on the counter. We went for a walk, I guess they were not far enough on the counter because when we got back there was a ripped gallon bag on the floor and no more cookies. I didn't put that many chocolate chips in them. Our big dog is still begging for more food. IDK what to do with her...I guess all there is to do is just laugh..I guess. I do wonder if her other owners thought this behavior was funny, or they didn't discipline her when she did stuff. I know it's not for attention, she gets a lot of attention from us, maybe it's not me she wants the attention from.

Ground Beef Chili with Crayon Cakes

Hello everyone, tonight for dinner we tried a Publix recipe, Ground Chili with Crayon Cakes.  Everyone liked it.  My husband said it wasn't too hot, it was mild and just enough heat though to make his sinus' open up.  The crayon cakes are made with Pillsbury Quick Cinnamon Swirl Bread and M&M's.  They were good too.  Another two thumbs up recipe from the whole family.  Thanks for looking and reading God Bless.

Baby Chic Cupcakes

Hello everyone, I did these yesterday. Okay these cupcakes were suppose to be ducks but their beaks fell off, so I decorated their beaks with frosting.  I got this idea and how to from the book I mentioned in the other cupcake post.  I ran out of yellow food coloring and the kids picked green, I think they turned out pretty cute.  This was an all day job.  It was fun to make these little guys and I would do it again.  Thanks for looking.  God bless.

Hello everyone, today was a good day.  My family and I tried the Bubba Angus burgers, they were good.  Sorry, no picture.  My husband fenced in the garden.  I cleaned out the kitchen cabinets getting rid of mugs and cups the kids don't use anymore.  Our church will be having a yard sale to raise money for thee youth to go to camp.  I set all of the mugs and things aside for that. Anyway, that is about all for today.  I can't wait to see the Fast and the Furious 5.  I love old cars and a couple of new models too.  I would love to work on them.  I have changed some spark plugs, and changed the oil in a couple of cars.  Last year I would've helped my husband and neighbor with a fuel pump (but I am still a girl and it was cold outside)...lol I opted to stay inside where it was nice and warm.  Thanks for reading this boring post today...lol.  God Bless.

Propel Water

Hello everyone, this new to me.  I had a coupon for this water, so I got it not thinking that I would like it.  After I had refrigerated it for a few hours I was surprised.  It was really good, it was sweeter than I thought and was not bitter for it being lemon flavored.  I give it a thumbs up (only one).  It is a great stand in for a soda. I don't think it would be good to drink all the time.  Thanks for reading and looking.  God Bless.

Hello everyone.  Today we had Palermo's pizza for lunch.  I just have to say that we had this one before and it is pretty good considering that it is a frozen pizza.  It gets two thumbs up from us.

Oven Roasted Chicken

Hello everyone,
     This chicken was suppose to be salt crusted but after looking at all of the kosher salt it called for I decided to leave all the salt out.  I sliced a lemon, an onion and added 3 cloves of garlic and stuffed it inside the chicken, then mixed some lemon zest, olive oil, a little salt, pepper and thyme together and brushed it on the chicken and stuck it in the oven for about 1 hour and a half.  Thanks for reading and looking.  God Bless.

Ruffles

Hello everyone,  this is an update from yesterday.  In my sewing class it was time for me to learn how to make a ruffle...looks easy.  My teacher and I had a little trouble with getting the ruffle done.  Between me giving my son a spelling test and my teacher helping my daughter's friend with her sewing project we were lucky we finally got it sewn together.  It still doesn't look like a ruffle yet, but next Wednesday it will.  I need to sew the corner (point) to the point of my appron and then I will get to turn the rest into a ruffle.  I think it will be too pretty to use for cooking. Anyway, here is a pic of what will eventualy be my ruffle.

Turkey Roll

     Hello everyone.  Tonight's dinner will be a turkey roll loaf.  I made it before, but it didn't taste like it should have (of course I'm guessing here...lol).  I used Provolne cheese that was frozen (refrigerator was turned on the wrong setting), and it never did melt like it was suppose to.  This time I am going to use mozzarella which everyone in my house loves. 
     This coming weekend (I know it's only Monday), I think we are gonna plant our garden (yay, I'm excited).  I will take pictures of our once we seedlings.  I have yellow beans, green beans (still a seedling.  I had to replant these seeds), strawberries (still little seedling), sunflowers, corn, snapdragons (a lot of little sprouts), Marigolds, humming bird mix of flowers, cantelope, tomatoes, onions and aspearagus (those are for my daughter :), I think that is it.  If not I will let you know.  I will have pics of the turkey roll loaf and of my seedlings a little later.  Thanks for reading, God Bless.

CPR Class

What's for Dinner?

Hello everyone.  Tonight for dinner I am fixing Toola Roola, this came out of a coloring book.  My daughter handed it to me and said, "we've got to try this." Sewing Class

Cupcakes...or

Hello, I decides to put the eggs before the chicken...lol.  Okay, so I made these cupcakes to go with the other desserts for the church.  They were suppose to be mini cupcakes, and to carry them they were suppose to be in egg cartons.  I don't have a mini cupcake pan and got tired of trying to find one, I found plenty of the mini baking cups for them though.  The idea for these egg cupcakes came from "What's New, Cupcake? by: Karen Tack and Alan Richardson.  I used White chocolate instead of the candy melts too.  Tell me what you think of mine.  Thanks for reading and God Bless.

Souhwest pork Chops

Hello, I fixed the southwest porkchops.  They were good.  It looked like I burnt them, so I didn't take a picture of it.  Turns out I guess that's what the spices do when they are cooked like that.  They were really good.  My son didn't like them, but everyone else did so I'll mark it with a smiley face with a note on the side.
I am also in the process of making cupcakes for tomorrow nights dinner at church.  These are going to look like eggs and yolks.  I got the idea from a cupcake book.  I'll put it all in here tomorrow when I have everything ready for pictures.  I love doing stuff like this, cakes and cupcakes.  My sister does too, she makes really pretty cakes and cupcakes.  I told her she should blog about it.  With her being a nurse and a mom of four, I'm not sure if she would have time to.  Anyway, that is all for now.  Thanks for reading and God Bless!

Chicken Sticks...Finally

The Cat Is Still...

Hello.  This is a really smart cat!  Too smart for his own god.  If he keeps eating my food he's gonna have to go somewhere else to live.  He has food in his bowl and he has more than one bowl to choose from.  I went grocery shopping for the family, not him (well I did get him the cat treats Party Mix).  Does he get into the Party Mix bags...NO he has to eat my Thomas' whole wheat bagels!  Brand new, just purchased them today.  Two gone just like that.  I guess I would get tired of eating the same thing everyday too, but come on!  He just started doing this, maybe he's not getting the attention that he needs.  I don't know...I knew I should have gotten the bread box the other day at Target, that would have solved my bagel problem.  Now, my bread, and the remainder of the bagels are safely in the cabinet where I should have put them in the first place...lol.  Thanks for reading. Hey, OK for those of you who don't know.  Last night our wonderful fat cat ate the chicken that we were suppose to have for dinner tonight.  I made it the night before and all I would of had to do is shred it.  Anyway, he decided that his food ion bowl just wasn't good enough and helped himself to the chicken, while he was doing this he inadvertently fed the dogs too.  Boy do those two dogs love this cat.  Well yesterday when my husband comes home from work, he finds a snake.  I will post a picture of it later tonight.  I guess he has paid us for the chicken, except 1. we don't eat what he brings us. 2. it wasn't even dead.  My husband takes a shovel gathers up this gardener snake and tosses it into the woods.  Thanks for reading.  God Bless.

Where's the chicken?

Hello everyone.  Okay, so today I clean some of my house, and for dinner we had Chicken and Pepper's Pasta Skillet.  It was good I think it was a Kraft recipe.  Anyway, while I was making tonight's dinner I started and another dinner since there was plenty of chicken left over.  I had to left the chicken cool, so I put it in a bowl and pushed it in a corner of the counter.  About ten minutes later, I go back in there to put it in the refrigerator when I noticed that there is no longer chicken in the bowl.  Earlier, I did hear growling, but the dogs and cats sometimes do that of they get too close to each other while munching on their food.  I guess next time I will stick the chicken in the refrigerator hot.    Life is so funny sometimes, depending on how you look at it.

the GA's

Hello to all.  The GA's were a huge help getting our classroom ready to paint.  I am really happy that some of them wanted to take some of the out of date worksheets and books with them.  They also helped a few weeks ago getting the clothes for our clothes giveaway.  It turned out really good I thought, we were able to help people and that is what it is all about.  Thanks for reading. Life is good...

Hello everyone.  Today is a good day considering it is rainy, and deary outside.  I managed to do 1/2 a workout and then did 15 minutes on the treadmill.  I felt really good (still do).  I don't want to do too much at once and then I won't be able to workout, I need to build myself up to it.  The kids had a 1/2 day from school so we ventured out in the rain to McDonald's, I love our McDonald's I have only had a problem there with my order, maybe once.  Usually it is exactly how we order it, and I love that.  They have really good employees there.  I let them play while a friend of mine from church sat and talked about everything, just about.  We only stayed an hour, but it was a really good hour.  We came home and I remembered the things I had to print for my sewing class.  that will give me something else to do while my daughter finishes her butterfly pillows.  I know, I guess my life sounds pretty boring, but it's really not.  I got my phone on the charger, been checking out the auctions on eBay, and searching for thing's through Swagbucks.  Life is good and God is Great.  Oh and please keep R.P. in your prayers.  Thanks for reading.  God Bless!
